Рецепт Heart Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wraps
As I chowed down on an artery clogging Buffalo Chicken sandwich at a local restaurant this past weekend, the squeaky wheels in my head began to turn as I thought about how I could re-create such a divine tasting sandwich without the evil fat.
After a few brews with friends the next day, the wheels upstairs really started to spin and I determined the first step was to come up with a creamy sauce just like the extra delicious one that oozed out of that restaurant sandwich every time I took a bite.
I've never made my own "authentic" Buffalo wing sauce from scratch before and wasn't exactly sure where to begin. So I turned to Frank for help. Frank is the bottle of Frank's Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce in my fridge. Frank had the formula for the flavor and all I had to do was mix it with low-fat mayonnaise to turn it into a creamy sauce that was perfect!
Once the sauce was ready to go, I simply tossed it with some leftover shredded chicken breast. The original plan was to saddle the sauced-up chicken on a Kaiser bun but I stuck with the heart healthy theme and stacked it on a whole wheat flour tortilla, along with some greenery (romaine lettuce) and grated carrots.
I still prefer the greasy "non-healthy" sandwich version I had at the restaurant but I'd be one big dude, with an overworked heart if I ate too many of those. This way I can enjoy that addictive Buffalo wing flavor in a tasty wrap that's easy on the ole ticker. It should hold me over for a while.
Buffalo Chicken Wraps
Time it takes: 10 minutes
Makes: 2 Wraps
- 1 tbsp Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 2 Romaine lettuce leaves
- 2 whole wheat flour tortillas (7-inch)
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
In a medium bowl, mix together wing sauce and mayonnaise. Stir in chicken. Mix until chicken is coated with sauce.
Place a lettuce leaf on top of each flour tortilla. Divide chicken among the two tortillas and spoon on top. Sprinkle each with equal amounts of grated carrot. Fold each tortilla around filling and insert a toothpick to hold together.
