Рецепт Healthy spinach dip
It’s dip time! Healthy spinach dip, at that!
Usually when I think of a dip recipe, I think of something gooey and cheesy, with very little nutritional value. And although I love (!) gooey, cheesy things, there’s no reason at all why healthy dips can’t be just as delicious! This healthy spinach dip is crammed with vegetables, and has plenty of Greek yogurt to transform them into a creamy, protein-packed dip that’s perfect for smothering on a cracker.
It’s actually been a while since I enjoyed a really healthy recipe this much. I know it’s not much to look at, but this healthy spinach dip is really, really tasty (though to be honest, with something this beautifully creamy, it would take a lot to deter me!).
This dip has a tiny kick of heat from the chilli, and the pinch of ground cumin really livens everything up, balancing out the tangy Greek yogurt perfectly. Together with heaps of red pepper and, of course, all that spinach, the flavours are amazing. I like to use frozen spinach for dips, as it gives a really nice, fine texture – so don’t worry if you don’t have a fridge full of fresh produce!
Now, what to serve with a healthy spinach dip? It would seem a shame to dip a fatty crisp into something so light and fresh – so instead, I served mine with these Rawlicious crackers. They’re raw, vegan, and have no gluten, dairy or wheat.
…stay with me here. I know that to someone who doesn’t follow this kind of diet, the fact that a product is raw and vegan probably isn’t a huge selling point. And to be honest, I didn’t expect much from these crackers – but omg. Just like a meat-eater who ignorantly thinks that all vegetarian food must be tasteless and unsatisfying, I couldn’t have been more wrong. These crackers are absolutely delicious! I went for the tomato pizza flavour (because hello, pizza), and as soon as you open the pack, you get the smell of the beautifully rich tomato flavour. The crackers are crispy and crunchy, and the fact that they’re super healthy is merely a great added bonus!
The rich tomatoey flavour went really well with the creamy dip. Definitely recommended!
(and while we’re at it, I’ve also been enjoying the Vega One bars, which I got from the same stockists, Inside Organics. My favourite flavour so far is chocolate peanut butter – absolutely delicious, and they contain 12g of plant-based protein!)
So next time you find yourself in need of a quick, healthy snack or light lunch, whip up a batch of spinach dip, grab a healthy cracker of two, and get dipping!
Healthy spinach dip Author: Becca @ Amuse Your Bouche Recipe type: Light lunch Yield: 2-3 Ingredients
300g frozen spinach 1 red pepper, finely chopped ½ a mild red chilli, finely chopped 3tbsp Greek yogurt 30g cheddar cheese, grated 4tbsp fresh parsley or coriander, chopped Pinch of ground cumin Salt Black pepper Instructions
First, you need to defrost the frozen spinach. You can either add it to a frying pan over a fairly low heat, and cook until most of the water has evaporated, or you can microwave the frozen spinach and then thoroughly squeeze out as much of the water as possible. Then, add the spinach to a large bowl with the remaining ingredients and plenty of salt and black pepper. Mix well to combine, and serve with crackers. 3.2.2807
