Ингредиенты

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 c. lukewarm water, potato water or possibly scalded lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 c. graham or possibly whole wheat flour
  • 6 c. white flour
  • 1 c. raisins (opt.)

Инструкции

  1. Soften yeast in hot water. Add in brown sugar, molasses and shortening. Add in salt and flour. Knead well. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Knead again, cover and let rise another hour. Shape into loaves. Let rise till double in bulk. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for about one hour. Makes 3 loaves.
