When we first moved into our home years ago, I was afraid to hang pictures on the wall. I wasn’t sure how to arrange them, what height I should hang them, how many I should use to fill a space, etc… We had bare walls for a couple of years in some of our rooms. So boring!! Then I had an interior decorator friend come over and give me some tips. They were life changing for me people! I’ve taken baby steps, but I have finally reached a point where I am not afraid to decorate my own house.

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20thing%20you%20need%20to%20do%20is%20trace%20all%20of%20the%20items%20you%20want%20to%20hang.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20traced%20pictures,%20shelves,%20sconces,%20and%20even%20the%20rough%20outline%20of%20flower%20arrangements%20that%20I%20would%20be%20putting%20on%20shelves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20time%20I%20was%20hanging%20a%20grouping%20of%207%20photos.%20All%20of%20them%20were%208%C3%9710%20size,%20so%20I%20cut%207%20pieces%20of%20scrap%20paper%20all%20the%20same%20size.%20Then%20I%20put%20small%20pieces%20of%20tape%20on%20the%20back%20and%20started%20trying%20different%20arrangements.%20I%20ended%20up%20with%20this%20one:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20you%20need%20to%20mark%20the%20place%20for%20each%20of%20your%20nail%20holes.%20I%20like%20to%20take%20each%20piece%20of%20paper%20off%20one%20at%20a%20time%20and%20place%20it%20on%20the%20back%20of%20the%20picture,%20then%20make%20a%20pencil%20mark%20where%20the%20nail%20will%20go.%20That%20way%20if%20there%20are%20different%20types%20of%20picture%20hangers%20on%20the%20backs,%20you%20will%20have%20the%20nails%20matched%20up%20correctly.%20Hope%20that%20makes%20sense.%20%20After%20I%20mark%20the%20nail%20hole,%20I%20hang%20the%20paper%20back%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20take%20a%20nail%20and%20put%20it%20right%20through%20the%20pencil%20mark.%20Repeat%20for%20all%20the%20pictures%20you%20are%20hanging.%20Then%20take%20off%20the%20paper%20and%20hang%20up%20your%20photos.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESee%20how%20they%20are%20arranged%20perfectly,%20but%20that%20each%20frame%20is%20NOT%20perfectly%20straight?%20Here%E2%80%99s%20where%20the%20next%20tip%20comes%20in.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20a%20piece%20of%20painter%E2%80%99s%20tape%20and%20place%20it%20on%20the%20back%20of%20each%20frame.%20Usually%20one%20piece%20in%20a%20corner%20works%20fine,%20but%20sometimes%20I%20have%20to%20use%20it%20on%20two%20corners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETilt%20each%20picture%20till%20you%20get%20it%20straight.%20When%20it%20is%20where%20you%20want%20it,%20press%20it%20against%20the%20wall%20in%20the%20place%20you%20put%20the%20tape.%20Now%20it%20won%E2%80%99t%20swing%20back%20and%20forth%20on%20the%20nail%20anymore.%20This%20has%20been%20a%20lifesaver%20in%20my%20housefull%20of%20boys!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDoesn%E2%80%99t%20this%20look%20much%20better?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20since%20I%20used%20the%20tape,%20I%20know%20it%20will%20stay%20put,%20even%20amidst%20door%20slams,%20wrestling%20matches,%20jumps%20to%20touch%20the%20ceiling,%20wall%20slaps,%20and%20laundry%20hamper%20basketball.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20go,%20hang,%20decorate.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20be%20afraid!!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
