  • 2 1/2 c. uncooked ziti pasta - (9 ounce)
  • 1/4 c. margarine or possibly butter
  • 1 x garlic clove finely minced
  • 1/4 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 c. shredded Colby cheese - (8 ounce)
  • 4 ounce sliced cooked deli ham cut thin strips
  • 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat margarine in 3-qt saucepan over low heat. Cook garlic in margarine 30 seconds, stirring frequently. Stir in flour and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till mix is smooth and bubbly.
  3. Gradually stir in lowfat milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in mustard and Colby cheese. Cook, stirring occasionally, till cheese is melted.
  4. Stir pasta and ham into cheese sauce. Pour into ungreased 2-qt casserole. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered 20 to 25 min or possibly till bubbly.
  5. This recipe yields 6 servings.
