Halloween Treats and a Vignette

A couple of weeks ago I was introduced to Habanaro Vodka. It wasn’t until a week later that I mustered up the nerve to try it. This is one drink where a little goes a long, long way. Using eyeballs in a cocktail was something I’ve wanted to do all season and finally I had the chance. Sip this one slowly and if you’re feeling adventurous add a bit more of the hot stuff. If you add too much your eyes will be on fire!

Eyes on Fire

In the bowl of a food processor blend the oranges, coconut milk, lime juice and simple syrup. Add vodkas and blend for 10-15 seconds. Fill cocktail shaker with ice and vodka mixture. Shake well and pour into glass and garnish with a candy eyeball or other Halloween candy.

The Candy Corn Parfait was inspired by many Pinterest pins. I layered the glass with mango Jello and Cool Whip. Between the layers I sprinkled pieces of chopped candy corn and then garnished the top with whole ones. This is a very light dessert and you can easily add in additional types of candy. Imagine the possibilities for different holidays!

The vignette was set up in my foyer. Last year the witches were on my tablescape and this year they felt the need for a bit more privacy. What witches want witches get, sometimes!!!

About Sandra

I am the proud owner of the largest sweet tooth in the world. This means that my other passion, fitness, serves me very well. As contradictory as this seems, I’m a certified fitness professional. It’s great to be able to show my clients how to have their cake and eat it too. Life is truly too short not to have dessert. As long as you have the best natural ingredients and enjoy them in moderation it’s OK.

For the last twenty-five years I’ve been a cake decorator. Try as I might I can’t get it out of my blood, so I’ve decided to stop fighting it and go with the flow. Who say’s you can’t have it all?
