- To make the patties:
- Place the ground beef in a large bowl; set aside.
- In a food processor, combine onion, green pepper, celery and garlic.
- Chop until minced.
- Add the vegetables to the ground beef.
- Add the 7 spices the the ground beef mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Shape the mixture into 8 patties about 3/4 inch thick.
- Grill the patties directly over medium coals for 12-14 minutes, turning once.
- To make the sauce:
- In a large saucepan over medium high heat, melt the butter.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle with the flour and stir.
- Add the chili sauce, red wine, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce.
- Cook and stir until mixture is bubbly. Cook for 1 minute more.
- Serve the sauce over the meat patties.
