- Wash beans and slice on the diagonal into 1 inch pcs. Place in saucepan with beer and butter. Cook over low heat till crisp tender, about 15 min. Remove beans with a slotted spoon and set aside. Combine vinegar, sugar, onion and cornstarch. Stir in liquid and cook till thickened. Thin with a little beer if necessary. Gently mix in beans, sprinkle with bacon and serve.
