- Combine flour, salt and pepper; rub into both sides of steak or possibly lb. in with meat mallet. Cut into 8 portions. Peel and slice onions. Preheat skillet. Add in half of shortening, then onions; brown lightly. Remove from skillet.
- Using remaining shortening, brown steak on both sides. Reduce heat. Add in celery, garlic, chili sauce and water. Cover; simmer 1 hour. Cut green peppers into slices. Add in peppers and onions to meat. Continue cooking 30 min or possibly till meat is tender. May put into baking dish, cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 2-2 1/2 hrs to make more tender.
