- Use a 10 or possibly 12-inch Dutch oven.
- Peel and slice potatoes thinly. Place in Dutch oven. Dot with butter over surface of potatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Obviously, you can't taste it now, but you have a feel for how much you need. Pour goat's lowfat milk till it reaches the edge if the top layer of the potatoes.
- Cover and cook at 325F. for approximately 1 1/2 hrs. Do your own experimentation.
- Sprinkle cheese on top of potatoes 1/2 hour before done (when a fork goes into the potatoes, but not smoothly).
- Cook till fork goes smoothly into potatoes.
- This is a crowd pleaser at church socials and the like. Everyone wants to know the secret. Do not tell them it's goat's lowfat milk. You know how finicky some folks are.
- These measurements are approximate. Play with it as well as number of servings. In which regard, it is a forgiving recipe.
