Рецепт Gluten Free Baked Ziti
Before I got glutened on Tuesday, I woke up early so that I could make our supper that morning. I often try to make meals ahead on Sunday, if I know that we’re going to be coming home late during the week.
On the menu for that night, a healthy twist on baked ziti, using:
low fat cottage cheese instead of ricotta!
Gluten Free Baked Ziti – Light
Preheat oven: 350 degrees
You’ll need
- 4 cups gluten free noodles (you could ziti; I used rotini)
- 16 oz. container of Low Fat cottage cheese
- one egg
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, plus additional for topping
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. salt, dash of pepper
- 28 oz. tomato sauce of your choice; I used my favorite:
I absolutely LOVE Dei Fratelli everything! It’s all gluten free, and the flavor is so fresh!
Start by cooking your pasta. You want it to be al dente. Once cooked, sit it aside to cool to room temperature. In a big bowl, whisk together the cottage cheese, egg, oregano, and mozzarella cheese.
Then mix your cheesy mixture, sauce, and pasta together!
Take your baking dish, and spread a bit of the tomato sauce on the bottom. And then add your ziti mixture. Cover the top with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove from the oven and top with additional mozzarella cheese. Back in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melty and gooey.
Voila!
So good!
The next time I make this, I’ll definitely add veggies, but for my first batch I wanted to make the classic dish!
Happy Thursday! I’ve got a LONG day ahead of me, but it’s going to be a good one!
