  • 2 c. Shortening (no substitutes)
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 2 c. Dark molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. Grnd cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 9 c. All-purpose flour 9-10 c.

Инструкции

  1. In a 5 quart pan,heat shortening, sugar and molasses on low, stirring constantly till sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; add in cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Stir in flour, 1 c. at a time, till dough can be formed into a ball.
  2. Using remaining flour, lightly flour a wooden board.
  3. Turn dough onto the board; knead till even in color and smooth (not crumbly or possibly dry), adding more flour if needed Form into a log. Cut into 5 equal pcs; wrap in plastic wrap.
