After mixing the dough, divide it into 2 balls and flatten each into a giant heart shape on greased pan; decorate with baking decors......

.....then press the candy decors down gently into dough to make them stay put. I found they lifted off if I used my fingers to press down, so instead I used a sugar coated jelly candy (left bottom corner) to press them down and it worked well.
