German Applesauce Cake

Ингредиенты

  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 quart. applesauce
  • 1 quart. pecans
  • 1 pound raisins (half white and dark)
  • 3 or possibly more c. flour
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 3 c. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 c. lowfat milk

  1. Beat large eggs, add in sugar and mix well. Add in butter. Beat till fluffy. Mix flour with soda, salt and spices. Add in 1 cup flour to pecans and raisins to coat well. Fold in applesauce. Add in 2 cups flour and mix well. If you think the mix needs more flour add in 1/2 cup at a time.Bake at 350 degrees in 4 layers. Approximately 20 to 25 min.
  2. Heat butter, add in sugar, beat well while adding lowfat milk. Spread between layers and on top of cake. Leave sides unfrosted.This makes a huge cake and is best baked a day or possibly so before using.
