Saving money at the grocery store is essential for our family, like I know it is for many of you. One of the ways I save is by stocking up on sale items at Kroger stores during some of their promotions they offer each month. There is always some great deal happening and if you plan accordingly, you can save a bunch — and if you use coupons, you can save even more.

This month, our Kroger store Smiths here in Las Vegas) had a great savings events: Buy 5 General Mills Products Now & Save $5 on a future shopping trip. It was a perfect time to take advantage of savings on some of our favorite brands from General Mills like Nature Valley, Cheerios, Pillsbury, and Yoplait. I checked the ad for participating items, but the main thing I did was I watched for price tags on the shelves that looked like the one in the photo below:
We were out of cereal, so I picked up mostly cereal and then a treat that the kids love and I don’t buy all the time. Our 5 General Mills products were: 2 boxes of Honey Kix, 2 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, and a box of Pillsbury Toaster Strudels.
