  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 x egg
  • 6 ounce semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 x egg

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c.; level off. In large bowl, combine flour, baking pwdr, and salt. With pastry blender, cut in shortening till mix resembles small peas. Stir in 1 egg with fork just till moistened. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Press dough in bottom and up sides of ungreased miniature muffin c.. In small saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate chips, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, butter, lowfat milk, vanilla, and 1 egg; mix well. Place scant tablespoonful of filling in each pastry shell. If you like, top each with pecan half. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 to 25 min or possibly till set. Cold. Remove from pan with small spatula.
  2. Yield: 24 tarts
