This recipe was made for a friends baby shower. I spent about three hours carving this baby buggy. I had orange slices for the wheels, but they either fell off or was not put on. It was time consuming, but fun to make. You can mix it up and use any type of fruit you want. You can make something simple like a basket by cutting it in half and putting a handle in the middle. I used a black sharpie pen to draw what I wanted on the watermelon, then I cut it. All you have to do is practice. If your family likes watermelon then they will love you. The best thing is that if you make a mistake get another watermelon and start over. I am a watermelon addict, did you know they can be harvested right up to the area's first frost. So, go out and buy a watermelon this week and savor summer right into autumn. Practice carving it. Take the chunks of watermelon and eat it plain. To make it even better, add mint and feta to the luscious and juicy chunks of watermelon and make a salad. Yum.
