Fried Poppy Seed Bread ( Khus Khus Poorie )

Ингредиенты

  • 300 gm plain four
  • 150 gm banana mashed
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 pch bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. white poppy seeds Sunflower oil for deep frying salt

Инструкции

  1. Knead the flour banana lemon juice bicarbonate of soda salt and sugar with just sufficient water to make a stiff dough.
  2. Cover and leave for 10 min.
  3. Make equal sized balls of the dough (15mm in diameter).
  4. Roll each ball in a plate of poppy seeds.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadai or possibly wok.
  6. Roll out each ball to a thin even discGently slide the poorie into the oil and fry till puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Take care not to overheat the oil.
  8. Drain on a slotted spoon and remove onto absorbent paper.
  9. Serve warm.
  10. Serves 4.
