,%20but%20just%20so%20I%20can%20constantly%20create%20and%20test%20new%20recipes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20this%20case%20though,%20I%20had%20to%20make%20this%20week's%20pie%20again%20-%20my%20Baked%20Bean%20Puff%20Pot%20is%20essentially%20my%20favourite%20components%20of%20an%20English%20brekkie,%20topped%20with%20a%20puff%20pastry%20hat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEr,%20I%20know%20the%20yellow%20pepper%20seems%20a%20bit%20odd%20but%20this%20wasn't%20part%20of%20the%20original%20plan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20version%20had%20baked%20beans,%20sausage,%20bacon%20and%20mushroom%20and%20at%20the%20time,%20I%20was%20working%20on%20my%20Quick%20Puff%20Pastry%20post.%20Ah,%20I'll%20just%20use%20the%20pastry%20from%20this%20to%20top%20my%20brekkie%20pot,%20I%20thought.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20got%20carried%20away%20whilst%20making%20the%20pastry,%20folding%20it%20more%20times%20than%20necessary%20to%20ensure%20it%20was%20fully%20puffed%20for%20the%20photo%20for%20that%20post:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20course,%20it%20only%20occured%20to%20me%20once%20I%20started%20on%20the%20baked%20bean%20puff%20pot%20itself%20that%20I%20realised%20how%20stupid%20this%20immensely%20puffed%20pastry%20would%20look!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESure%20enough,%20it%20turned%20out%20looking%20so%20ridiculously%20that%20I%20deleted%20the%20photo%20out%20of%20shame,%20and%20decided%20to%20just%20do%20the%20recipe%20again%20another%20time.%20With%20sensible%20size%20puff%20pastry%20(and%20er,%20pepper%20instead%20of%20mushrooms%20because%20I%20didn't%20have%20any).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBaked%20Bean%20Puff%20Pot%20Serves%204:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1)%20Preheat%20the%20oven%20to%20190%20degrees%20C.%20Cut%20the%20pastry%20into%204%20equal%20portions.%20Roll%20each%20one%20onto%20a%20floured%20surface%20into%20a%20large%20circle%20(about%205%22).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2)%20Transfer%20the%20pastry%20circles%20to%20a%20lined%20baking%20tray%20and%20brush%20with%20milk.%20Bake%20for%2015-20%20minutes%20until%20puffed%20and%20golden.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3)%20Meanwhile,%20fry%20the%20sausages%20chunks%20in%20some%20veggie%20oil%20to%20brown.%20Add%20the%20bacon,%20followed%20by%20the%20onion%20and%20pepper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4)%20Pour%20in%20the%20baked%20beans%20and%20gently%20bring%20to%20the%20boil.%20Turn%20down%20to%20a%20simmer%20and%20mix%20in%20the%20puree%20and%20herbs.%20Continue%20to%20cook%20for%20about%205%20minutes%20until%20heated%20through.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5)%20Divide%20the%20baked%20bean%20mixture%20into%204%20large%20shallow%20bowls,%20then%20top%20each%20one%20with%20a%20puff%20pastry%20circle!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPie%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERead%20my%20other%20Friday%20Pie%20Day%20adventures.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
