Coriander leaves are the most commonly used ingredients in Indian cooking. From garnishing to making various dishes coriander leaves hold a special place in every refrigerator.
And being rich in iron and many other minerals fresh coriander should be included in our daily diet for better health.
This chutney is a regular in my house, a small glass bottle of the same could be found in my refrigerator at anytime. It comes very handy when unexpected guests arrive, as I could easily serve this with chapattis, dosa, Idly or as a sandwich spread.
Ingredients;
A bunch of fresh coriander leaves
1 medium size tomato (sour variety)
1 green chilly
- 2 cloves of garlic (optional)
- ½ tsp of cumin seeds (jeera)
- Salt as required
A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
Method: Pluck the coriander leaves and wash under running water. Mix all ingredients and grind it to a fine paste. Store in a glass bottle and keep in refrigerator. Stays good for a week.
