  • 2 c. Apples thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. Grated Lemon Peel
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Pwdr
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 c. Butter
  • 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1 x Egg well-beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar

  1. Arrange apples in a buttered 8x8x2-inch pan. Sprinkle with mix of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon peel, and lemon juice. Heat in 400 degree oven while preparing shortcake crust.
  2. Sift together flour, baking pwdr, 1 Tbsp. sugar, and salt. Cut in butter till mix in like coarse crumbs. Add in lowfat milk and egg at once. Stir till flour is just moistened. Spread dough over warm apples. Sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 40 min.
