Ингредиенты

  • 4 lrg Sliced Onions
  • 1/4 c. Butter or possibly Margarine
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 4 can Beef Broth (13 ounce each)
  • 6 slc Toasted French Bread
  • 1/2 c. Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4 c. Shredded Swiss Cheese

Инструкции

  1. Saute/fry onions in butter in a covered Dutch oven over very low heat, stirring occasionally, till tender and transparent. Uncover; add in sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring, 10 min longer or possibly till onions are a rich golden.
  2. Add in beef broth; bring to boiling; cover; simmer 0 min. Taste; add in additional salt if necessary.
  3. Ladle soup into 6 ovenproof soup bowls. Top with bread slices; sprinkle slices with both cheeses.
  4. Heat in a warm oven for 10 min, then place under preheated broiler till top is bubbly and lightly browned.
