.%20What%20kinda%20cat%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20wanna%20play%20with%20an%20excited%20toddler?!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20course,%20being%20a%20cat%20lover%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20preclude%20the%20possibility%20of%20dog%20affection.%20I%E2%80%99d%20really%20like%20to%20be%20an%20avid%20dog%20lover,%20but%20apparently%20that%E2%80%99s%20a%20decision%20that%20must%20be%20agreed%20upon%20when%20you%E2%80%99re%20married.%20There%E2%80%99s%20really%20no%20compromise%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20wanting%20a%20dog:%20you%20get%20one,%20or%20you%20don%E2%80%99t.%20We%E2%80%99re%20stuck%20on%20the%20latter%20for%20the%20time%20being.%20And%20don%E2%80%99t%20get%20me%20wrong,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20pondered%20using%20the%20%E2%80%9Clook%20at%20this%20poor%20innocent%20puppy%20I%20found%20in%20the%20alley%20and%20he%E2%80%99s%20so%20pitiful%20and%20cute%20and%20we%20just%20can%E2%80%99t%20leave%20him%20out%20there%20all%20alone%20can%20we?%E2%80%9D%20tactic,%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20hot%20out%20there%20these%20days%20and%20I%20really%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20sleep%20on%20the%20park%20bench%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20course,%20it%20may%20be%20for%20the%20best,%20because%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20sure%20that%20Tange%20and%20I%20would%20be%20able%20to%20share%20bacon%20with%20anyone%20else.%20It%E2%80%99s%20hard%20enough%20to%20share%20with%20just%20her%20%E2%80%93%20I%20mean,%20look%20at%20her%20and%20her%20colorful%20personality:%20sweet%20and%20innocent%20to%20clawing%20and%20showing%20teeth,%20to%20content,%20chunk%20o%E2%80%99%20bacon%20in%20mouth,%20teeth%20gnashing.%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20sure%20how%20she%20discovered%20bacon,%20really.%20I%20was%20never%20one%20to%20feed%20her%20%E2%80%98non-cat%E2%80%99%20food,%20but%20early-on%20she%20discovered%20the%20land%20of%20carbs%20when%20I%20brought%20her%20home%20after%20being%20spayed;%20she%E2%80%99d%20not%20eaten%20all%20day,%20and%20the%20first%20morsel%20of%20food%20she%20found%20was%20a%20bag%20of%20Thomas%E2%80%99%20bagels.%20Before%20I%20could%20gather%20my%20thoughts%20(it%20takes%20longer%20than%20you%20might%20think),%20she%E2%80%99d%20torn%20into%20that%20bag%20and%20eaten%20half%20a%20bagel.%20(We%20don%E2%80%99t%20leave%20bread%20out,%20ever,%20or%20she%20would%20demolish%20it,%20thanks%20to%20that%20one%20episode.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20I%20found%20her%20dunking%20her%20paw%20in%20my%20coffee%20one%20day.%20Oh%20boy.%20Somewhere%20along%20the%20way%20she%20found%20bacon,%20perhaps%20she%20was%20fed%20by%20an%20old%20roommate,%20who%20knows.%20But,%20I%20dare%20you%20to%20try%20to%20eat%20your%20bacon%20without%20her%20knowing,%20and%20when%20she%20finds%20out,%20because%20she%20will%20find%20out,%20without%20her%20using%20her%20good%20looks%20and%20pitiful%20meow%20to%20coerce%20you%20into%20feeding%20her%20a%20few%20crumbles.%20Still%20today,%20just%20the%20smell%20of%20it%20wakes%20her%20from%20a%20coma%20at%20the%20other%20end%20of%20the%20house.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20can%20I%20say,%20we%20spoil%20each%20other%20%20.%20But%20she%E2%80%99s%20in%20my%20top%20two,%20so%20it%E2%80%99s%20ok,%20I%20think.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20you%20can%E2%80%99t%20blame%20her%20for%20being%20so%20incredibly%20in%20love%20with%20bacon,%20can%20you?%20I%20mean,%20what%E2%80%99s%20not%20to%20like%20here?%20I%20find%20you%20can%20squeeze%20bacon%20onto%20just%20about%20any%20dish,%20and%20only%20the%20vegetarians%20would%20be%20sad%20about%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20said,%20when%20I%20came%20across%20a%20BLT%20sandwich%20disguised%20as%20a%20salad,%20I%20knew%20it%20was%20time%20to%20crack%20open%20that%20pound%20of%20bacon%20in%20the%20freezer.%20A%20perfect%20summertime%20meal,%20there%20is%20minimal%20cooking%20involved%20here%20and%20for%20those%20of%20us%20in%2090-degree%20+%20weather,%20that%20seems%20to%20be%20a%20goal%20these%20days.%20Fry%20up%20some%20bacon,%20hard-boil%20some%20eggs,%20and%20toss%20it%20into%20some%20greens,%20tomatoes,%20and%20if%20you%E2%80%99ve%20got%20an%20extra%20one,%20a%20cucumber,%20and%20you%E2%80%99ve%20got%20yourself%20a%20salad%20fit%20for%20a%20king.%20Or%20a%20queen.%20Or%20a%20bacon-loving%20cat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBacon,%20Lettuce,%20&%20Cherry%20Tomato%20Salad%20w/%20Aioli%20Dressing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Bon%20Appetit,%20July%202010;%20serves%202-4%20as%20a%20meal%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethere%E2%80%99s%20certainly%20nothing%20at%20all%20wrong%20with%20leaving%20this%20salad%20as%20is,%20but%20you%20could%20drive%20the%20whole%20BLT%20analogy%20home%20and%20bake%20some%20bread%20cubes%20into%20croutons,%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20so%20inclined.%20i%20was%20not,%20but%20if%20i%20made%20this%20salad%20again,%20i%20might%20swap%20the%20egg%20for%20bread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehard-boil%20eggs%20(place%20in%20saucepan%20and%20cover%20with%20water,%20cover%20&%20bring%20to%20boil,%20turn%20off%20heat%20and%20let%20sit%20for%2012%20minutes,%20rinse%20eggs%20until%20cold%20water%20and%20peel).%20can%20refrigerate%20until%20re
