2 cups butter, softened 1 cup sugar 4 cups flour

1 egg, beaten 2/3 cup finely chopped almonds Colored sugar, optional

Инструкции

1. In a large bowl, cream the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Beat in the flour
3. Cover and chill for one hour
4. On a well-floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 thickness.
5. Brush lightly with the egg
6. Sprinkle with the almonds and sugar if desired
7. Using a fluted pastry cutter or a knife, cut into 2 x 1 inch strips
8. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets
9. Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned
10. Remove to wire racks to cool
