  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. Crisco or possibly other solid shortening
  • 1 egg
  • Cool lowfat milk (sweet)

  1. This recipe is great because if it breaks as you put it in pie pan just healthy pinch together. It will hold together. Mix flour, sugar and salt together (I sift it). Add in shortening with 2 knives, or possibly pastry blender, cut till shortening is very fine. Beat egg in measuring c.. Add in sweet lowfat milk to make 1/2 c.. Stir together. Add in to flour mix. Stir till flour is dampened and sticks together when most of dough is in a ball. Remove to lightly floured board and using floured hands, gather into ball. Don't knead, just push together. This is sufficient for 4 pie crusts. May be stored in refrigerator as long as two weeks.
