%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20is%20the%20funeral%20memorial,%20we%20are%20dedicating%20his%20day%20with%20his%20favorite%20%22Star%20Trek%22%20themes.%20Actually,%20it's%20kind%20of%20fitting%20for%20him%20in%20his%20final%20resting%20place%20as%20he%20is%20on%20a%20new%20trek%20in%20his%20afterlife%20journey.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20to%20make%20one%20of%20his%20favorite%20cakes%20and%20of%20course%20Star%20Trek%20must%20be%20included%20in%20his%20memory.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20talented%20husband%20drew%20the%20photo%20with%20a%20toothpick%20on%20the%20cake%20and%20I%20filled%20it%20in.%20I%20had%20taken%20cake%20decorating%20%20classes%20years%20ago,%20I%20never%20did%20master%20the%20art%20of%20writing%20with%20frosting,%20but%20the%20true%20partnership%20together%20%20today%20made%20this%20cake%20perfect%20and%20I%20know%20Ed%20would%20have%20loved%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMarble%20cake%20with%20butter%20cream%20frosting%20was%20one%20of%20his%20favorites.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEd,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22This%20one's%20for%20you%20whereever%20you%20are%22..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBatter:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20the%20butter%20sugar%20together%20until%20light.%20Add%20flour,%20eggs,baking%20powder,baking%20soda,%20vanilla%20and%20milk.%20Beat%20till%20smooth,%20around%20three%20minutes,%20split%20batter%20into%20two%20bowls.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20unsweetened%20cocoa%20powder%20to%20one%20bowl%20mix%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrease%20the%20pan%20of%20your%20choice,%20o%20you%20can%20use%20a%20bundt%20pan,%20or%20two%208%20inch%20pans%20using%20same%20method.%20Start%20with%20a%20small%20amount%20of%20vanilla%20cake%20batter%20on%20the%20bottom,%20add%20a%20dollop%20of%20chocolate%20batter%20in%20the%20center,%20sprinkle%20just%20the%20chocolate%20with%20mini%20chocolate%20chips.%20Continue%20layering%20until%20all%20the%20batter%20is%20gone.%20Do%20not%20stir.%20Bake%20at%20350%20for%20around%2040%20minutes%20till%20done,%20test%20with%20a%20toothpick%20if%20it%20comes%20out%20clean%20in%20the%20center.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETip%20Note:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20easiest%20way%20to%20do%20a%20tranfer%20of%20a%20photo,%20is%20to%20take%20a%20cookie%20sheet%20upside%20down%20flat%20even%20side.%20Place%20on%20the%20back%20of%20a%20flat%20cookie%20sheet%20your%20favorite%20coloring%20book%20photo,%20tape%20it.%20Place%20wax%20paper%20over%20it%20and%20%20tape%20securely%20then%20trace%20with%20frosting.%20When%20dry%20lift%20and%20place%20on%20the%20cake.%20If%20you%20are%20an%20artist%20like%20my%20husband%20you%20can%20draw%20the%20photo%20straight%20onto%20the%20cake%20with%20a%20tooth%20pick%20and%20fill%20in%20with%20a%20star%20tip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20use%20Royal%20icing%20or%20this%20frosting%20below,%20however%20its%20take%20up%20to%20three%20weeks%20to%20dry%20the%20one%20below%20hard%20enough%20so%20it%20won't%20break%20when%20lifting.%20The%20best%20thing%20about%20using%20the%20star%20tip%20to%20trace%20the%20photo%20even%20if%20it%20broke%20you%20can%20fix%20it%20with%20fresh%20frosting%20no%20one%20will%20know!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EButter%20Cream%20High%20Humidity%20Frosting:%20%20Great%20for%20Florida%20or%20hot%20weather%20area's.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20lbs%20powdered%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2/3%20cup%20crisco%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2/3%20cup%20water%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20package%20of%20dream%20whip%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20tablespoons%20clear%20vanilla%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20with%20a%20flat%20beat%20in%20an%20industrial%20mixer%201%20package%20dream%20whip%20and%20crisco%20till%20light,%20gradually%20add%20the%20powdered%20sugar%20in%20and%20little%20water%20at%20a%20time.%20Whip%20or%2012%20minutes,%20fold%20in%20the%20vanilla.%20The%20frosting%20is%20thick%20and%20ready%20to%20frost%20a%20cooled%20cake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20this%20picture%20I%20used%20a%20large%20star%20tip%20for%20the%20shell%20border,%20and%20small%20star%20tip%20for%20the%20enterprise.%20The%20dark%20m&m%20for%20the%20top%20of%20the%20ship%20and%20under%20ship%20I%20used%20chocolate%20rounds%20cut%20out%20for%20the%20bottom%20deflector%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20gray%20frosting%20was%20tinted%20with%20a%20tiny%20bit%20of%20black%20food%20paste,%20I%20use%20Wiltons%20coloring.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20would%20like%20the%20recipe%20for%20Royal%20icing%20see%20below.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20tablespoons%20meringue%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20cups%20powdered%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6%20tablespoons%20warm%20water%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20all%20together%20in%20a%20very%20clean%20bowl%20with%20hand%20held%20mixer%20till%20this%20makes%20soft%20peaks%2010%20to%2012%20minutes..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20for%20the%20final%20ending%20he%20loved%20both%20these%20songs,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrecious%20and%20Few%20and%20this%20One's%20for%20You....%20Barry%20Manilow.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EClimax%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBarry%20Manilow%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
