Easy Strawberry Mango Smoothies are a quick fix for a healthy afternoon pick-me-up or a quick and healthy breakfast! They are a delicious way to get your fiber and vitamins!
Happy New Year my friends! I've been gone on a blog hiatus for a few weeks but I'm back with more delicious recipes in the new year. My family and I did some traveling over the holidays and enjoyed every single minute of it. Since my daughter moved to Florida earlier this year, we decided to take advantage of her relocation and enjoy some warm and sunny weather and some beach time!
One thing I really enjoyed while being in Florida were the wonderful Florida strawberries that were just coming to harvest while we were there. We stopped at a farmer's stand on our way up to Orlando from Ft. Myers last week, but sadly, they had not harvested their crop yet! I was able to find some berries in the local grocery stores and we had berries all week long.
When I got home, I was so happy to find Florida berries here in the Ohio markets! I snatched up a couple of containers so I could continue my strawberry love affair. Now the only question was...how to enjoy these sweet fruits this week?
Since my youngest son is home this week from college, and he is a MAJOR smoothie fan, I decided to put together this delicious strawberry mango smoothie for him and share it with you. I kept it dairy free ( he doesn't eat or drink dairy products) by using unsweetened vanilla almond milk in the smoothies, but you could use dairy milk if you prefer.
I used all frozen fruit in this smoothie to keep it flavorful and thick, avoiding the need for ice cubes. You do, however, need a powerful high speed blender if you are going to use all frozen fruit. If the fruit you use is not frozen, then you will need to add ice cubes to the mix. You can adjust the thickness by using more or less almond milk.
Smoothies are a fun way to enjoy fruits and veggies all year long!
