Рецепт Easy Chocolate Mousse
Our thoughts and prayers are with Boston and everyone affected by the tragedy.
Chocolate Mousse! Mousse au chocolaté! However you want to say it, it’s divine. I used to be afraid to make it. I don’t know why it scared me, it just seemed like a dessert you only should eat in Paris or at fine parties, not a dessert you make at home.
Well, I decided to be brave and give it a try and guess what? It’s not scary at all! It’s actually really easy, almost too easy! Now, I know I can make Chocolate Mousse at home. This could be dangerous.
I wanted to make a French inspired dessert because today we teamed up with The Dating Divas, a group of married women who post fun, creative, and inexpensive dating ideas, to bring you a special treat-Dinner and a Movie! Our date night movie is Les Miserables.
Ok, you really aren’t getting dinner, but you are getting dessert and that is way better:) The idea is to give you a fun date night with a delicious recipe. We’ve taken care of all of the planning and hard work for you. All you have to do is rent the movie, make Easy Chocolate Mousse, and have fun! And if you think that sounds too hard, tell your loved one to be in charge and just show up:)
If you haven’t seen Les Miserables, you must. And if you have seen it, then I know you will want to watch it again. It’s fabulous!
Les Miserables is Josh’s favorite musical. He saw it on Broadway. He had third row seats and sat next to Chuck Norris. He loves telling that story:) I’ve never seen the musical live, but I did enjoy the movie.
I had a hard time choosing what to make for this date night. Les Miserables is somewhat depressing and food wasn’t really abundant. I thought about making a loaf of crusty bread, but that didn’t sound fun, so instead you get a classic French dessert-Easy Chocolate Mousse!
The chocolate mousse is rich, silky, and smooth. I topped it off with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. It is pretty to serve and a treat to eat!
Get date night on your calendar! We’ve got the perfect date for you! And I promise, you don’t want to miss out on this Easy Chocolate Mousse…and yes, it really is easy!
Head on over to The Dating Diva’s for the awesome date details! They have some fun things planned for you! Enjoy Dinner (Dessert) and a Movie!
Easy Chocolate Mousse
Yield: Serves 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 3 hours 15 minutes (mostly chilling time)
Ingredients:
- 7 oz bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons water
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature, separated
- Pinch of coarse salt
Directions:
1. Combine the chocolate and water in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Heat until the chocolate is almost completely melted, stirring occasionally. Remove the bowl from the heat and stir until the mixture is smooth. Set aside and let cool to near room temperature.
2. In a clean, dry bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine the egg whites and the salt. Whip on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. They should be thick and smooth.
3. Stir the egg yolks into the cooled chocolate mixture. Add one third of the whipped egg whites to the bowl with the chocolate and fold gently to lighten up the mixture. Fold in the remaining egg whites gently with a spatula just until no visible streaks are left.
4. Portion the mixture into 4 individual serving dishes (or 2 larger serving dishes, for a romantic, share-friendly dessert). Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Serve with freshly whipped cream, if desired.
