  • 1/2 c. miniature chocolate chips
  • 5 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
  • 3/4 c. oats quick-cooking
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 can cherry pie filling 16 ounce. c
  • 1 can pitted tart cherries 16 ounce.
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. rolled oats quick-cooking
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine softene
  • 1/4 c. miniature chocolate chips

  2. Grease a 10 inch pieplate; set aside. For crust, in a medium saucepan heat the 1/2 c. chocolate pcs and 5 Tablespoons butter. Remove from heat; stir in the 3/4 c. oats, 3/4 c. four, and 1/4 c. brown sugar. Press onto bottom and sides of prepared pie plate to create a hard, even crust. Bake in a 350 oven for 10 min. Meanwhile, for filling, in a medium mixing bowl combine pie filling, cherries,and almond extract. Pour into the baked crust. For topping, in a small mixing bowl stir together 1/2 c. flour, 2 Tablespoons brown sugar and 2 Tablespoons oats. Cut in the 3 Tablespoons butter until mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the 1/4 c. chocolate pcs. Sprinkle over filling. Bake in 350 oven for 35 min. Cold on a wire rack.
