Today I wanted to share a cute and inexpensive gift idea. I love DIY gifts and these Reindeer Cocoa Cones are perfect to give to classmates, teachers or to use as a stocking stuffer. Reindeer Cocoa Cones are super easy to make and a fun activity, so make sure to get the kids involved.
All you need is cone shaped clear bags, instant hot cocoa mix, peppermint baking chips or chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, brown pipe cleaners, ribbon, wiggly eyes and colored pom poms. I found everything I needed at my local Walmart in the craft and party supply section department.
I picked up a few Holiday Mugs in housewares for $1.99 each as well as this cute little Holiday Time Treat Tray for $2.47. The treat tray was located in the party supply section with all the holiday items. Walmart's holiday and party supply section has so many items to choose from that you can really get creative.
Each treat tray comes with a decorative bow, gift tag, twist tie and clear bag wrap that the tray slides into. Just place a few cocoa bags and two mugs inside for a quick and thoughtful gift. Each of my kiddos will be taking one of these gift packs to their teachers.
These are the items you will need: 2 boxex hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, Andes peppermint crunch baking chips or regular chocolate chips, disposable cake decorating bags, red ribbon, pipe cleaners, red or brown pom poms, wiggly eyes and direction tags.
Start with one decorating bag and add 3 packets hot cocoa mix. Trim off about one inch of the and twist the bag. Secure with a small rubber band or use clear tape. Make sure the Wilton label is in back of both bags so it does ngot show. Slide the filled cocoa cone inside a second decorating bag (you double the cones to keep the Cooca mix separated from the toppings).
Add 1/4 cup of peppermint crunch baking chips per cone or chocolate chips followed by 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows. Twist the bag tight and tie closed using the red ribbon. Glue on two wiggly eyes and one red or brown pom pom for the Reindeer's nose and eyes. Add one brown pip cleaner or fuzzy stick twisting and shaping them for antlers.
Using a hole punch add a hole and attach the decorative directions tag through the antlers or run it through the red ribbon before securing the antlers to each bag.
