Рецепт Deen Bros.- French Onion Burgers
Deen Bros.- French Onion Burgers
Oh, are these ever good!! There’s just something about a “mini” burger that is so right! We didn’t even need ketchup or mustard!! The best thing I can take away from this recipe, is the absence of egg and bread crumbs. They’re clearly not needed when for years, I have thought they were the main-stay of burgers…
French Onion Burgers
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 Vidalia onions, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 8 (1-inch-thick) sliced French bread, both sides buttered
DIRECTIONS:
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions; cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 12 to 15 minutes. Uncover; increase heat to medium-high and cook, stirring constantly until onions are caramel colored.
Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray (I use Weber brand from ACE hardware). Preheat grill to medium-high.
In a medium bowl, combine ground chuck, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon granules, thyme, pepper and salt. Divide mixture into 8 equal portions, and shape into 1/2 inch thick oval patties. Grill patties; covered with frill lid for 6 to 7 minutes per side or until a meat thermometer registers 160 degrees. Top patties evenly with cheese.
Grill buttered bread slices for 1 to 2 minutes per side, top each with 1 patty and caramelized onions.
