1 stick butter 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 Large eggs 1 3/4 c. plain flour, sifted 2 teaspoon baking pwdr

1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 c. minced dates 1 c. minced nuts, pecans or possibly English walnuts

1. In a large saucepan, heat butter. Stir in sugar and cold slightly. Beat in Large eggs, then mix in the dry ingredients, vanilla, and mix well. Add in dates and nuts by hand and stir to mix well. Spread mix into a well greased and floured 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 min. Cold in pan, then cut into squares or possibly bars.
