- Mix flour, salt and baking pwdr. Sift.
- Cut in shortening with 2 knives till the consistency of coarse cornmeal.
- Stir in the lowfat milk, a little at a time, to make a soft dough.
- Add in nuts and dates.
- Turn out onto slightly floured board and knead for 1/2 minutes.
- Roll to 1/2" thickness.
- Cut in 2" rounds with floured cutter.
- Place on an ungreased sheet.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
