%20Pulav%20or%20Pilaf%20is%20a%20really%20easy%20rice%20based%20dish%20where%20veggies%20(%20in%20the%20case%20of%20my%20dish)%20are%20cooked%20along%20with%20the%20rice%20seasoned%20with%20some%20spices.%20It%20is%20a%20really%20simple%20and%20easy%20preparation.%20Pulav%20can%20also%20be%20prepared%20with%20chicken%20,%20shrimp,%20egg%20etc%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20dish%20was%20initially%20supposed%20to%20be%20a%20mixed%20vegetable%20curry%20:-)%20,%20but%20at%20the%20last%20moment%20I%20decided%20to%20go%20with%20making%20a%20quick%20pulav%20with%20the%20same%20mixed%20vegetables%20to%20which%20I%20had%20already%20added%20all%20my%20spices%20to%20prepare%20the%20curry.%20So%20there%20you%20go,%20Curried%20Veggie%20Pulav%20!!!%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20just%20used%20%20some%20frozen%20mixed%20vegetables%20(containing%20carrots,%20green%20peas,%20beans%20and%20corn)%20%20that%20I%20always%20have%20in%20my%20freezer%20,%20one%20potato%20and%20half%20of%20a%20green%20bell%20pepper%20(capsicum)%20for%20the%20mixed%20veggies.%20You%20can%20use%20whichever%20veggies%20you%20prefer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECurried%20Veg%20Pulav%20Recipe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20source%20:%20My%20Own%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou'll%20need%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Wash%20the%20rice%20in%20cold%20water%20and%20drain%20and%20keep%20it%20aside.%20(%20If%20you%20have%20the%20time,%20its%20best%20to%20soak%20the%20rice%20in%20water%20for%2030minutes%20and%20then%20drain%20before%20preparing%20the%20pulav,%20I%20did%20not%20do%20it%20though)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Heat%20a%20large%20cooking%20pot%20and%20add%20the%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Saute%20the%20whole%20spices%20in%20the%20oil%20until%20the%20flavors%20are%20released.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20the%20onions%20and%20saute%20for%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Add%20in%20all%20the%20mixed%20veggies%20and%20after%20sauting%20for%202%20minutes,%20add%20the%20spices%20(%20red%20chilli%20powder,%20corriander%20powder,%20garam%20masala%20powder,%20turmeric%20powder%20and%20pepper%20powder)%20and%20saute%20for%20another%202-3%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Now%20add%20in%20the%20rice%20to%20the%20mixed%20veggies%20and%20stir%20gently%20until%20rice%20and%20veggies%20are%20mixed%20well%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20Add%204%20cups%20of%20water%20and%20season%20the%20water%20with%20salt%20,%20stir%20once%20more%20and%20cover%20and%20cook%20until%20the%20rice%20is%20cooked%20fully.%20(%20The%20water%20should%20be%20salty%20to%20taste%20so%20that%20the%20rice%20is%20seasoned%20well%20once%20cooked)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20Serve%20it%20hot%20with%20some%20cool%20cucumber%20Raita%20!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20dish%20can%20be%20prepared%20so%20fast%20and%20can%20be%20served%20without%20requiring%20to%20prepare%20too%20many%20side%20dishes,%20as%20it%20is%20rice%20+%20mixed%20veg%20curry%20in%20one%20!!%20:-)%20Some%20plain%20Yoghurt%20or%20Cucumber%20Raita%20along%20with%20some%20Papad%20goes%20really%20well%20when%20serving%20this%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20house%20gets%20filled%20with%20the%20lovely%20aroma%20of%20basmati%20rice%20being%20cooked%20and%20the%20lovely%20spices%20added%20to%20this%20dish.%20The%20Pulav%20was%20really%20good,%20the%20rice%20was%20soft%20and%20perfectly%20cooked%20,%20the%20veggies%20and%20the%20spices%20mingled%20really%20well%20with%20the%20rice%20and%20it%20did%20make%20a%20really%20quick%20,%20tasty%20and%20colorful%20lunch%20for%20us%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHave%20a%20sweet%20day!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Manju%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
