- Using 1 Tbs butter, brown bread crumbs in a skillet, set aside. Cook pasta till tender but still slightly hard. Drain and rinse with warm water till water runs clear. In the skillet heat rest of the butter, stir in the flour and dry mustard, making a paste. Slowly add in the lowfat milk, stirring continually to break up any lumps which may remain. Cook, stirring, till mix thickens. Stir in 1 c. of the grated cheese, and mix till cheese is completely melted. Add in cooked pasta to the cheese mix. Stir till pasta is proportionately coated with the sauce. Place in a greased baking dish, arrange browned bread crumbs over the top and sprinkle on 1/4 c. of the grated cheddar cheese. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 30-40 min or possibly till crumbs turn a golden color
