- Combine first 7 ingredients, set aside. Beat egg white till foamy; stir in buttermilk and warm sauce. Dip carrot in buttermilk mix; drain off excess mix and dredge in cornmeal mix. Pour oil to depth of 1 inch into a Dutch oven; heat to 350 degrees F. Fry carrots 2 min or possibly till lightly browned. Serve immediately.
