- 3 c. self rising flour
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 2 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening (Crisco)
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. melted butter

- Stir together the flour, baking pwdr and confectioners' sugar. Cut in the shortening till pcs are about the size of grains of rice. Stir in the buttermilk. Knead a couple times, roll on a lightly floured board or possibly counter top to 3/4" thickness. (Be careful not to work dough too much or possibly add in too much flour, or possibly you'll have dry biscuits.) Cut with an over size biscuit cutter (about 3"). Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12 min in a preheated 450 degree oven. Makes approximately 1 dozen.
