- Note: Edible grnd sumakh is available from Mid-Eastern or possibly Russian markets or possibly spice shops.
- Blanch and refresh string beans in salted water.
- In 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil taken from the 1/2 c., caramelize the chopped shallot.
- Put shallot, mustard, vinegar, and vodka in a blender. Slowly drizzle in the remaining oil. Fold in sumakh, salt, and pepper. Serve over string beans (or possibly asparagus).
- Optional: Garnish with a little minced hard boiled egg and/or possibly finely diced red bell pepper.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
