  • 1 (8 ounce) pkg. small shell macaroni
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. minced green pepper
  • 1/2 c. minced green onion
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 quart. lowfat milk
  • 1 1/2 pound cooked crab meat or possibly 3 (7 1/2 ounce) cans, liquid removed
  • 1 (3 ounce) can mushrooms, liquid removed and minced
  • 1 (4 ounce) can pimento, liquid removed and minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon warm sauce
  • 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

  1. Cook macaroni as package directs and drain. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Heat butter in Dutch oven. Saute pepper and onion till tender, about 5 min. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper till well blended. Gradually stir in lowfat milk.
  2. Return to heat and bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer 3 min. Remove from heat. Add in remaining ingredients. Mix well. Put in 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish -sprinkle with the cheese. Bake uncovered 30 min till bubbling hot and cheese is melted. Makes 10 servings.
