%20after%20work.%20He%20said%20we%20are%20having%20corned%20beef%20tonight.%20I%20wasn't%20planning%20on%20having%20corned%20beef%20tonight%20but%20since%20he%20said%20it,%20I%20just%20agreed.%20Hubs%20is%20part%20Irish%20and%20he%20said%20this%20traditional%20Irish%20dish%20that%20is%20normally%20served%20on%20St.%20Patrick's%20Day%20and%20it%20is%20delicious.%20%20(we%20had%20a%20belated%20St.%20Patrick's%20Day%20food...%20Lol...)%20As%20you%20know,%20what%20he%20likes%20may%20not%20be%20what%20I%20like%20so%20I%20was%20like%20okay,%20I%20give%20it%20a%20try...%20I%20suggested%20that%20he'll%20do%20the%20cooking%20tonight%20while%20I%20clean%20up%20the%20other%20room.%20Then%20the%20smell%20of%20corned%20beef%20and%20cabbage%20coming%20from%20the%20kitchen%20was%20fantastic%20but%20it's%20like%20taking%20forever%20to%20cook.%20By%20the%20time,%20it%20was%20done,%20I%20was%20so%20hungry.%20Well,%20%20it%20was%20not%20bad%20as%20I%20thought%20it%20would%20be.%20It's%20lovely%20to%20have%20one%20dish%20associated%20with%20a%20day..%20Kudos%20to%20hubs.%20Thumbs%20up!!!%20Love%20ya!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20large%20head%20cabbage,%20cut%20into%20wedges%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20corned%20beef%20in%20large%20pot%20or%20Dutch%20oven%20and%20cover%20with%20water.%20Add%20the%20spice%20packet%20that%20came%20with%20the%20corned%20beef.%20Cover%20pot%20and%20bring%20to%20a%20boil,%20then%20reduce%20to%20a%20simmer.%20Simmer%20approximately%2050%20minutes%20per%20pound%20or%20until%20tender.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20whole%20potatoes%20and%20carrots,%20and%20cook%20until%20the%20vegetables%20are%20almost%20tender.%20Add%20cabbage%20and%20cook%20for%2015%20more%20minutes.%20Remove%20meat%20and%20let%20rest%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20vegetables%20in%20a%20bowl%20and%20cover.%20Add%20as%20much%20broth%20(cooking%20liquid%20reserved%20in%20the%20Dutch%20oven%20or%20large%20pot)%20as%20you%20want.%20Slice%20meat%20across%20the%20grain.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy%20and%20have%20a%20great%20weekend%20all.%20%E2%99%A5%E2%99%A5%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
