.%20%20The%20news%20if%20filled%20with%20people%20of%20all%20sides%20of%20the%20issue%20as%20to%20whether%20Obama%20should%20be%20in%20the%20White%20House.%20%20But%20more%20importantly,%20we%20had%20great%20discussion%20and%20fairly%20strong%20opinions%20on%20the%20issue%20of%20whether%20cinnamon%20belongs%20in%20marshmallow%20rice%20krispie%20treats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20post%20on%20our%20Facebook%20Page%20regarding%20the%20cinnamon%20issue%20left%20me%20with%20a%20majority%20of%20responders%20on%20the%20%22give%20it%20a%20try%22%20side%20along%20with%20a%20few%20on%20the%20%22absolutely%20not%22%20side.%20%20After%20serious%20discussion%20and%20begging%20from%20Liv%20to%20leave%20the%20cinnamon%20out,%20I%20plowed%20forward%20and%20added%20a%20simple%20teaspoon%20(a%20generous%20one%20at%20that...)%20into%20our%20very%20%22marshmallowy%22%20after%20school%20krispie%20treats.%20%20Not%20really%20looking%20any%20different%20than%20usual,%20we%20spread%20the%20marshmallow%20coated%20cereal%20into%20our%20pan%20and%20decided%20that%20if%20we%20were%20going%20to%20go%20cinnamon,%20we%20were%20going%20to%20go%20big.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPulling%20powdered%20sugar%20from%20the%20pantry%20and%20adding%20cinnamon,%20a%20touch%20of%20vanilla%20and%20milk,%20we%20soon%20had%20a%20sweet,%20cinnamon%20glaze%20that%20was%20then%20drizzled%20over%20the%20treats.%20%20Her%20interest%20piqued,%20Liv%20had%20a%20hard%20time%20waiting%20for%20the%20glaze%20to%20set,%20and%20she%20actually%20cut%20into%20the%20treats%20as%20my%20back%20was%20turned.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHer%20exclamation%20of,%20%22Yes!!!%20%20These%20are%20awesome!%22%20had%20me%20turning%20to%20find%20her%20smiling%20ear%20to%20ear%20as%20she%20cut%20even%20further%20into%20my%20non-photographed%20pan%20of%20treats%20while%20muttering%20the%20phrase%20all%20moms%20love%20to%20hear:%20%20%22I%20guess%20you%20were%20right...%22.%20%20The%20hug%20that%20followed%20was%20even%20better%20than%20the%20acknowledgment,%20and%20as%20I%20helped%20myself%20to%20my%20own%20non-photographed%20piece,%20I%20concurred....%20Cinnamon%20Marshamllow%20Krispie%20Treats%20rock!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPin%20It%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECinnamon%20Marshmallow%20Krispie%20Treats%20with%20Cinnamon%20Glaze%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReminiscent%20of%20Sunday%20morning%20cinnamon%20rolls,%20the%20treats%20themselves%20bring%20a%20cinnamony%20flavor,%20but%20its%20the%20glaze%20that%20takes%20them%20over%20the%20top.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpray%20a%209x13-inch%20pan%20lightly%20with%20cooking%20spray%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeasure%20the%20puffed%20rice%20into%20a%20large%20bowl.%20%20Also,%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESet%20a%20large%20saucepan%20on%20the%20stove%20over%20medium%20to%20medium%20low%20heat.%20%20Add%20the%20butter%20and%20then%20the%20marshmallows.%20%20Continue%20to%20heat%20over%20low%20heat%20until%20everything%20is%20melted.%20%20Add%20the%20cinnamon%20and%20stir%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20melted%20marshmallow%20mixture%20over%20the%20cereal%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emixture,%20quickly%20stirring%20well%20to%20evenly%20coat%20the%20cereal.%20%20Moving%20quickly,%20pour%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecereal%20mixture%20into%20the%20prepared%20pan%20and%20evenly%20press%20into%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20prepare%20the%20glaze%20place%20the%20powdered%20sugar,%20vanilla%20and%20milk%20(or%20milk%20alternative)%20into%20a%20small%20bowl.%20%20Whisk%20until%20smooth%20adding%20additional%20milk%20or%20sugar%20as%20necessary%20to%20reach%20your%20desired%20consistency%20(we%20like%20ours%20fairly%20thick).%20%20Drizzle%20glaze%20over%20treats,%20then%20set%20aside%20to%20set.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20glaze%20is%20set,%20cut%20a%20small%20strip%20from%20one%20side%20of%20the%20pan%20(short%20side).%20%20Pull%20out%20the%20strip.%20%20Using%20a%20spatula%20carefully%20work%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20treats%20out%20of%20the%20pan%20and%20onto%20a%20cutting%20board.%20%20Cut%20into%20desired%20shapes%20and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELiv%20Life%20Note:%20%20Liv%20wants%20it%20noted%20that%20the%20%22allowing%20the%20glaze%20to%20set%22%20part%20of%20the%20directions%20is%20purely%20optional...%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
