Cinnamon Knots
Today when I was rummaging through my freezer, I found one lonely loaf of frozen sweet bread dough, hiding in the back of the freezer. I think it was left over from my holiday baking frenzy! I decided to make the recipe for Cinnamon Knots that was located on the back of the package. The recipe turned out great, nice and gooey, perfect with my Saturday morning cup of coffee. ~o) I polished 3 of these babies off before I glazed them:)
1 loaf Rhodes Sweet Dough, thawed
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/4 c butter, melted
- Cut loaf into 12 equal pieces. Mix together cinnamon and sugar. Roll each piece of dough into a 9-inch rope. Dip each rope in melted butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Tie in a loose knot and place on a baking sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray. Cover with plastic wrap and let double in size. Remove wrap and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
- Citrus Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 T butter, melted
- 3 T orange juice
- 1/2 t vanilla extract
Combine glaze ingredients and brush over warm knots
