  • 5 c. Cinnamon bread pcs (1")
  • 1/4 c. Raisins or possibly dry currants
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 2 x Egg whites
  • 3/4 c. Sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. Warm skim lowfat milk
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Water
  • 1/4 c. Whiskey
  • 1/4 c. Nonfat vanilla yogurt

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Butter (or possibly non-stick spray) a 13 x 9 x 2
  2. (3 qt) baking dish.
  3. Combine bread cubes and raisins in buttered dish. In medium bowl, combine Large eggs, egg whites and 3/4 c. sugar; beat well. Add in warm lowfat milk.
  4. Mix well. Pour mix over bread and raisins; let stand 5 min.
  5. Stir gently and bake for 25-35 min or possibly till liquid is absorbed.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine 1 c. sugar and water; mix well. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 min. Remove from heat; stir in whiskey. Cold to lukewarm. Stir in yogurt.
  7. Serve hot bread pudding with hot sauce.
  8. TIP: To substitute for whiskey, use 1/4 c. water and 1 tsp. brandy extract.
