- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put together flour, 2 tbsp sugar and cream of tartar in a bowl. Cut shortening into mix with pastry blender till mix is crumbly. Add in buttermilk; mix till mix clings together and forms ball.Sprinkle a small amount of additional flour onto counter top. Roll dough into thin rectangle on lightly floured surface with rolling pin. Brush with melted butter.
- Mix 2 cups sugar, cinnamon, oil and raisins in small bowl. Sprinkle over dough. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake for 15 min or possibly till golden.
