This is another one of those quick desserts that uses a boxed cake mix as a base.The original recipe, Buckeye Bars, called for peanuts. I used what I had on hand - Planters seed, nut, and raisin mix.The creamy peanut butter center wrapped in a nutty, crunchy outer layer is a perfect contrast.

- Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F for a glass dish).
- Grease bottom 13 x 9 baking pan.
- Place trail mix in a food processor and pulse until mix is chopped.
- In large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, oil and egg; beat on medium speed until crumbly.
- Stir in chopped trail mix.
- Reserving 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture, press remainder on bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- In a medium bowl beat condensed milk and peanut butter until smooth.
- Spread peanut butter mixture over prepared crust. I used a spatula, sprayed with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle with reserved cake mixture.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until just set.
- Cool. Cut into bars.
- Store loosely covered at room temperature.
