Рецепт Chocolate Syrup
by Stephanie Manley

Chocolate syrup doesn’t have to come from a bottle that you buy at the grocery store. You can learn to cook your own homemade chocolate syrup from scratch.

This recipe is part of my learn to cook series. My learn to cook series is where I am actually cooking out of my old home economics text book from Junior high school. Chocolate syrup happens to be one of the recipes that the Pueblo, Colorado school district 60 thought was essential.

Uses for Chocolate Syrup

You can use chocolate syrup in many different ways. You can poor this sauce over ice cream. You can make chocolate milk with this recipe. You can make this wonder Chocolate Pistachio Bundt Cake with it. So there are a lot of different ways to use the homemade chocolate syrup.

Cocoa to use

So if you are trying to emulate Hershey’s chocolate syrup you may want to use their brand of cocoa powder. I personally have made this with several brands, but I typically buy whatever Costco has for sale. They tend to be a little cheaper, and I am always happy with their brand selection.

How to Store Chocolate Syrup

When I make this I like to store it in small bottles. This way it makes it easy to pour and easy to measure. Honestly, you may want to store this in a Mason jar. You could prepare some of this syrup and give it as gifts if you desire. As long as you store this in an air tight container it doesn’t matter what container you store this in.

I really encourage you to go ahead and make your own homemade chocolate syrup. It is very easy to make, and it tastes very good. You can easily make this recipe with ingredients you already have in your pantry.
