- TO MAKE CRUST: Process chocolate wafers in blender or possibly food processor to make 1 1/2 c. fine crumbs (or possibly place wafers in plastic bag and crush with rolling pin). Combine crumbs with butter and vanilla; stir till blended.
- Press mix onto bottom and up sides of 9-inch tart or possibly pie pan. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 10 min. Cold on wire rack.
- TO MAKE FILLING: Microwave chocolate morsels and 1/2 c. whipping cream in microwavable bowl on HIGH (100%) for 1 to 2 min, stirring every 30 seconds [Iris' note: IMPT TO DO !!], till melted and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cold to room temperature. With electric mixer, beat remaining whipping cream on high speed, gradually adding sugar, till soft peaks form. Stir 1/3 whipped cream into chocolate mix. With rubber spatula, gently fold remaining whipped cream into chocolate mix. Turn mix into crust. Refrigerate3 hrs or possibly till set.
- Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if you like.
