- Beat egg whites, salt, cream of tartar and vanilla at medium speed till soft peaks form. Gradually add in sugar, beating till stiff peaks form. Carefully mix in morsels, walnuts and coconut.
- Place plain paper (such as white type paper) on baking sheets. Drop mix by rounded teaspoonfuls onto paper, leaving space between cookies for spreading. Bake 25 min, or possibly till delicately golden brown in 300 degree oven. Cold slightly before removing paper. Yield: 2 to 3 dozen meringues.
