%20%20I%20love%20caramel%20and%20I%20really%20love%20caramel%20apples%20but%20they%20are%20a%20special%20treat%20I%20will%20only%20make%20in%20the%20fall%20right%20around%20Halloween%20time.%20%20So,%20I%20was%20tickled%20pink%20to%20see%20that%20Jane%20of%20The%20Heritage%20Cook%20had%20Chocolate-Dipped%20Caramel%20Apples%20on%20her%20blog.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20given%20Jane's%20blog%20for%20this%20month's%20Secret%20Recipe%20Club%20assignment.%20%20I%20have%20been%20reading%20her%20blog%20right%20along%20for%20quite%20some%20time%20now%20and%20I%20enjoy%20the%20segments%20on%20her%20blog%20like%20%22Chocolate%20Monday's%22%20and%20%22Festive%20Friday's%22.%20%20I%20felt%20with%20our%20reveal%20day%20being%20on%20Monday%20that%20I%20would%20follow%20suit%20and%20do%20something%20that%20also%20had%20chocolate.%20%20Then%20I%20found%20the%20Caramel%20Apples.%20%20Oh%20my%20goodness.%20%20I%20knew%20immediately%20that%20I%20was%20going%20to%20make%20them%20and%20I%20not%20only%20made%20them%20once%20but%20twice!%20%20The%20first%20time%20I%20only%20dipped%204%20apples,%20shared%20one%20with%20Grumpy%20and%20the%20other%203%20with%20friends%20at%20work.%20%20I%20had%20a%20good%20amount%20of%20caramel%20left%20over%20so%20I%20cut%20them%20into%20pieces%20and%20wrapped%20them%20in%20wax%20paper.%20%20I%20ended%20up%20taking%20a%20few%20of%20these%20caramel%20pieces%20to%20work%20for%20one%20of%20my%20friends%20who%20told%20me%20she%20had%20shared%20her%20apple%20with%20her%20dad%20and%20that%20he%20loved%20the%20caramel%20and%20that%20I%20should%20just%20make%20some%20of%20the%20caramel.%20%20:)%20%20Little%20did%20he%20know%20that%20I%20already%20had%20some%20and%20he%20became%20the%20receiver%20of%20what%20I%20had%20left%20at%20home%20after%20I%20heard%20that%20he%20enjoyed%20it%20so%20much!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20made%20Jane's%20Pumpkin%20Bread%20recipe%20but%20I%20did%20not%20take%20photos.%20%20I%20was%20intrigued%20with%20how%20she%20had%20you%20mix%20chunks%20of%20butter%20into%20the%20batter....that%20was%20very%20different%20to%20me%20and%20while%20I%20did%20exactly%20as%20she%20told,%20I%20was%20nervous%20about%20it!%20%20I%20should%20have%20known%20better%20though%20because%20it%20turned%20out%20fabulous%20and%20I%20will%20make%20that%20recipe%20again%20since%20I%20didn't%20get%20to%20eat%20much%20of%20it.%20%20I%20didn't%20glaze%20the%20loaf%20I%20made%20but%20the%20next%20time%20I%20make%20it%20I%20will%20definitely%20be%20trying%20out%20the%20glazes%20also%20-%20the%20loaves%20look%20so%20yummy%20with%20the%20glazes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20a%20great%20time%20this%20last%20month%20going%20through%20all%20of%20Jane's%20blog%20and%20will%20continue%20to%20use%20her%20as%20a%20resource!%20%20She%20offers%20a%20lot%20of%20knowledge%20and%20great%20recipes.%20%20Make%20sure%20you%20check%20her%20out!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate-Dipped%20Caramel%20Apples%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efrom%20The%20Heritage%20Cook%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecandy%20sprinkles,%20crushed%20toffee,%20cookies,%20nuts%20-%20you%20name%20it,%20whatever%20you%20may%20like%20to%20decorate%20the%20apples%20with!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E10%20apples,%20washed%20and%20stems%20removed%20(I%20used%20Honeycrisp%20apples%20that%20I%20bought%20at%20Indian%20Ladder%20Farms)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20sugar,%20corn%20syrup,%20and%20honey%20to%20a%20simmer%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20%20Once%20it%20starts%20to%20simmer,%20wash%20the%20sides%20down%20with%20a%20pastry%20brush%20and%20water%20to%20remove%20any%20sugar%20crystals.%20%20Cover%20and%20cook%20for%203%20minutes.%20%20Remove%20cover%20and%20wash%20down%20sides%20once%20more.%20%20Insert%20candy%20thermometer%20and%20cook%20syrup%20until%20it%20reaches%20305%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20syrup%20is%20cooking,%20bring%20heavy%20cream%20to%20a%20simmer%20and%20keep%20warm%20until%20caramel%20is%20to%20temperature.%20%20Once%20Caramel%20reaches%20305%20degrees,%20add%20butter%20and%20cream....slowly.%20%20The%20syrup%20will%20bubble%20madly%20when%20you%20are%20stirring%20in%20the%20butter%20and%20cream.%20%20Once%20incorporated,%20return%20pan%20to%20burner%20and%20boil%20until%20it%20reaches%20a%20temperature%20of%20250%20degrees.%20%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20transfer%20to%20smaller%20bowl%20to%20allow%20covering%20apples%20easier.%20%20Let%20cool%2010%20minutes.%20%20Dip%20apples%20and%20let%20cool%20until%20caramel%20has%20hardened.%20%20I%20put%20them%20in%20the%20refrigerator%20to%20help%20the%20speed%20up%20the%20process.%20%20You%20may%20then%20dip%20the%20caramel%20apples%20in%20different%20varieties%20of%20chocolate%20and%20toppings.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
