- Puree 3/4 cup chives with oil in blender until smooth, then chill 1 hour.
- While chive oil paste stands, you can put oven racks in upper position and preheat to 375 degrees, place pine nuts in a shallow baking pan on lower rack until golden, shaking pan throughout browning process. Cool, then coarsely chop.
- Add the chive oil paste to the pine nuts and then whisk it together with the marscapone cheese and asiago until smooth. Transfer to a shallow bowl when ready to serve. It is lovely served with slices of ciabetta bread that have been lightly toasted in the oven, or with crudités.
